Meet the team!

Event Hosts

The South West Ceroc Championships are held by Kate and Ivan Burton who also run Ceroc Devon and Ceroc Exeter. Kate and Ivan are both Ceroc teachers and have been running the 3 weekly classes and 3 monthly freestyles in Devon for the last 4 years. They also run a yearly weekender (The Summer Sizzler) alongside a whole host of exciting events throughout the year.

On the day Ivan will be hosting up on stage, and Kate will be running around making sure all runs smoothly.

She learnt Latin and Ballroom early and competed in it until aged 16 gaining many titles including British Latin Formation Champion, she then moved to competitive line dancing whilst studying dance at university, winning numerous titles both individually and as part of a team. Since starting Ceroc in 2012 she has accumulated 7 Open titles including World Modern Jive Champion and being the first female to win the Ceroc Champs Grandmasters Trophy twice consecutively and being 2 time World Jack n Jill Champion.

Kate Skipper

Kate started dancing at a young age and did musical theatre at the age of 15 performing at the minack theatre. She started dancing ceroc in 2008 and became a teacher in 2012. Kate then moved on and became franchise owner of Ceroc Conexion in West Cornwall in 2017. Richard Beauvoisin

Richard (after being inspired by Patrick Swayze!) started dancing as a "normal punter" back in 1996! Quickly learning the ropes & going through the teaching courses, he has taught all over the country. Competing and winning since 1998 and judging since 2000. Still competing in multiple categories over the years and placing in last years Open Ceroc Champs with his wife Zoe. It's all about having technique, flow and expressing yourself on the dance floor.

Zoe Beauvoisin

Zoe started dancing at the age of three learning ballet, modern and tap until the age of eighteen. Whilst at university, she added a Latin and ballroom string to her bow until discovering Ceroc in 2005. Zoe and her husband Richard won and placed in numerous Open Championships between 2009 and 2012. In 2018, they dipped their toe back into the competition scene once more placing 3rd in the London Ceroc Champs. We welcome Zoe back in the judges chair at the south west champs for a second year in a row.

Deej has a trophy cabinet full of wins in Open, Blues and also won the Grand Masters at SWCC in 2019. Deej and partner heidi have also begun teaching and loved around the country for their friendly attitude and sublime dancing

Matthew Blain

Matt is another one of our judges who has spent a lot of time on the other side-the competition floor. Now moving over the judging panel for the first time at SWCC. Matt also teaches and understands the pressure of being scrutinized.

Heidi Moors

Like Deej, Heidi also has a trophy cabinet full of wins at the highest level - The Open. Heidi is superstar at Blues, and also won the Grand Master in 2019 with Deej.

Jamie Eddy

Jamie has been a Ceroc Teacher for 4 years and has been a regular on the competition scene for the last 5 years. He has won numerous medals and trophies throughout those years including several 1st place titles in a variety of categories and also won the inaugural South West Grandmasters title. A lucky dip legend with a flair for performing, his creative approach to musicality sets him apart on the dance floor. He’s looking forward to seeing everyone have fun, especially in the lucky dip and top cats categories where he’s looking for that individual who showcases their style and musicality to the max!
